Five months ago a Sea Rancher had to move and was unfortunately not able
to take her outdoor cat with her. The Humane Society then became involved
at her request. John and Elizabeth Escher and Ralph and I have since provided
foster care to this very fine cat.
We were told he was left at the Surf in a box with his mother and a sibling
some years ago. He was adopted but rejected by this person's indoor cats
therefore was fed and lived outdoors. With him in our homes we discovered
he has some degree of blindness most likely since birth therefore the
rejection by other cats. He was able to survive outdoors which is quite
remarkable.
It was sad to initially observe him. He crept about and confined himself
to a very small area in our home. However today with patient gentle care,
Lincoln has come to know his surroundings and is indeed comfortable. He
is a healthy, well-mannered cat. He enjoys laps, petting, well-behaved
dogs and cats. He follows us about like a pup. A true delight! This is
one of the best cats of which I have been involved. He brings scads happiness
to those who know him. And, best of all, he is a very happy cat!
Lincoln now needs a permanent home with love and care. In the future as
needed his vet care can be covered if requested and day/overnight care
can be provided.
If you wish to know about Lincoln, please contact me at diannem@mcn.org
